The Savior of Oily Skin Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid (BHA) is a β-hydroxy acid that also has the effect of exfoliating. For oily skin that is often plagued by acne and comedones, it is worth trying salicylic acid products.

When there are old dead skin cells on the skin and in the pores, the oil will not drain smoothly and become light yellow oil particles stuck in the pores.

If there is keratin on the surface of the oil particles, it is comedones.

If there is no keratin on the skin surface, it will become darker due to oxidation and become acnes.

If the skin surface environment happens to be conducive to the reproduction of Acne bacillus and Staphylococcus aureus, they will use these oils to create annoying pimples.

If you use a nasal patch to deal with comedones, it will enlarge your pores; if using acne needles or simply squeeze the acne with your hands, it may damage the surrounding skin and expand the inflammation, leaving black and red acne marks and even sunken acne scars. This highlights the advantages of external salicylic acid skincare products, which are non-invasive and painless.

Firstly, salicylic acid can fight inflammation and relieve symptoms such as redness. Secondly, it can sterilize and prevent bacteria from messing up. Thirdly, it can exfoliate and drain oil smoothly, which naturally becomes the acne-buster. Compared with Alpha Hydroxy Acid, it is easier to dissolve in oil, not only fix the keratin on the skin surface but also can enter the pores and play a role in deep cleansing.

Salicylic acid products must reach sufficient concentration and acidity to be effective. Before buying, please try to see if you are allergic to salicylic acid, or experience severe stinging and redness.

Regardless of whether you use salicylic acid or alpha hydroxy acid products, please strengthen your sun protection; causes they are not so-called “photosensitive substances” and can be used during the day, but the function of exfoliating makes the skin itself less sun-proof and more susceptible to sun damage.

*Attention: salicylic acid will reduce the lipids between cells, please choose carefully for dry skin.
