THE EFFECT OF RETINOL ON THE SKIN

Retinol and its derivatives have been recognized for their role in improving wrinkles, uneven skin tone, pigmentation and sagging, and they are often used in skin care products and cosmetics to improve the signs of skin aging.

Retinol and its derivatives are known to accelerate epidermal cell renewal, stimulate collagen synthesis, and increase skin thickness.

  1. Antioxidant

Retinol helps skin cells create better and healthier skin cells, provides antioxidant support, and increases levels of substances that strengthen the skin’s structure.

  1. Anti-aging

This relationship between retinoic acid and skin cells allows skin cells to function more properly, reducing damaged or aging skin cells. That’s one reason retinol is such a great anti-aging ingredient.

  1. Fade epidermal pigment

Retinol has the function of regulating the metabolism of the epidermis and stratum corneum.

  1. Promote collagen production

Retinol helps improve the shape of elastin already in the skin, and in a few studies, it has even been found to help with elastin production, and of course, it can boost the production of more collagen.

  1. Reduce inflammation

Studies have shown that retinol helps reduce inflammation, protects the epidermal mucosa from bacteria, and also improves rosacea.

  1. Shrink pores

Research has shown that retinol, whether in skin care products or in a prescription form, can improve the shape of the pore walls and help them restore function and state.

  1. Oil-control

The mechanism of action of retinol is to control the growth of skin cells that may block the walls of pores, thereby promoting normal sebum secretion and having oil control effects.

  1. Anti-acne

Because of its oil-controlling and inflammatory effects, retinol is also thought to aid in the treatment of acne.

Retinol is an active ingredient that acts on skin cell renewal. It may cause mild irritation. We recommend using it according to the precautions indicated on the package and use it gradually, such as using every other day in the first week, and using it on two days out of every three days in the second week, to give the skin time to adapt to the retinol. Since it acts to make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, we recommend using products that contain sunscreen along with retinol skin care products and reducing sun exposure during use.
